JobKeeper Payments Exempt From Queensland Payroll Tax & Other Relief Measures

In a bid to support Queensland jobs and to help businesses navigate through the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Queensland Government announced last week that businesses employing Queenslanders will not pay payroll tax on the Australian Government’s JobKeeper payments. From 30 March 2020, taxable wages paid or payable by an employer to an employee which are subsidised by the Commonwealth Government’s JobKeeper payment scheme are exempt from Queensland payroll tax.
